My journey was a very organic journey.

I always assumed I'd marry a black woman.

Denying self isn't a one-time thing, but a daily task.

Faith that doesn't affect your life isn't really faith.

I just don't think it honors God to create mediocre art.

Let me continue to try to set the record straight: I never retired.

It was always very clear to me that God was sovereign in salvation.

Training in God's gym may hurt sometimes, but He will make us stronger.

Some of us care about this - justice and unity - just because it's in style right now.

I've done admin work, preaching and teaching, youth ministry, marital counseling, etc.

We stand before God's wonder and yet we are disinterested and bored. This should not be.

I think about the very truth that changed my life. I want to put good things in my music.

I'm not good at very many things. The stuff I'm good at tends to be the stuff that people know me for.

'Rise' has a lot of different meanings. It's a call to action to rise from the dead and actually live.

It would be really dangerous for us to assume that Christian hip-hop's popularity equals racial unity.

Every trip I made to Atlanta was crucial because it was so hard to get away from family and church duties.

The question is not whether or not you will face trials. The question is, how will you respond when you do?

Who are we? We're not perfect but we're not worthless. Scripture tells us that we're beautifully made, but broken.

There's a difference between being excited about a trend and being excited about what God is already excited about.

Here's the grey rule: embrace things that lead you closer to Jesus, and reject things that lead you away from Jesus.

Sometimes, my weakness is where the strength really is, and it leads me to depend in the areas where I really should.

There is no halfway or lackadaisical way to fight lust. If you're not fighting your sin, you're befriending your sin.

I don't' really have lots of hobbies. I like to read and hang out with my family. I'm a pretty boring person beyond that.

The good life begins with Christ and ends with me. I need to stop following me and stop trying to make life all about me.

One of the things that I just kind of became very enthusiastic about, and wanted to learn more about it, is how God saves.

I love being an example, that, hey, I'm young, I'm a rapper, and the gospel is the power of God for salvation even for me.

I might not win a Grammy or get another Stellar Award but I'll get my rewards from the Lord. There's nothing better than that.

Before I walk onto the stage, it's about the centrality of Jesus and just really keeping a focus on Jesus as opposed to ourselves.

That's the new picture of the good life that I want to paint - living the way that God created us to live. That's what the good life is.

When my body, my energy is low, it's hard for me to be a good husband, hard for me to be a good father... hard for me to be a good artist.

You ain't got to wait on a cab no more; just call your Uber, and it pulls up. But waiting isn't an option: that's just a big part of life.

The gospel is the power of God for salvation for all who believe, not just old, black grandmothers or not just old, white Republican guys.

Pop culture mirrors culture, and, I think, as a rapper, hip-hop in a lot of ways mirrors the things that are happening in urban neighborhoods.

The fact that God is for me, that is huge for me when I am thinking about fighting my own sins, because my art tells me that God is against you.

Waiting is a big part of life. We don't like to admit that, especially our generation; we don't like to wait on stuff. We want stuff immediately.

Folks need the Gospel. We need to have our hearts changed. We see people from a skewed point of view. We need to see people the way God sees them.

We're born spiritually dead, and I'm calling for everyone to become spiritually alive. Secondly, don't wait until later to live the way you were created.

I just never want to do anything that's going to compromise what I do. It would have to be a song where there would be honest discussion about something.

I would be down to collaborate with certain people if we were able to do it in a way that, you know, what we're saying in the same song wouldn't contradict.

Instead of attacking people, we need to love people. It lights a fire under me because it's a reminder of why we need the Gospel. Our hearts are so corrupt.

I've definitely seen huge shifts, but the church is a little afraid of hip-hop, and hip-hop is a little afraid of the church. It's a weird middle area I'm often stuck in.

If I just point out the fact that black people hurt each other, too, then we can ignore the fact that other people harm black people. I think it's an irresponsible argument.

I think I used to not know if I could be a good pastor because I think I had some things in mind that I thought were part of being a pastor that don't necessarily have to be.

It does feel like sometimes that I'm the outcast. Hip-hop doesn't want to mess with me because I'm Christian and Christian music doesn't want to mess with me because I'm hip-hop.

One day Jesus is going to come back and reign with perfect justice. There will be no questions about what's happened. There will be perfect justice and I look forward to that day.

I never want to give people something I've already given them; I wanna give them something new, you know? So the people who've been enjoying my music for years, I hope they continue to enjoy.

What I see in Scripture are the priorities: My wife was beautiful to me, and she loved God, and we got along well. When I look in Scripture for what I want in a wife, here she is, right here.

We were all born robots. We were all born slaves to our sin. We did what the flesh and what the devil told us to do. For those of us that have been freed by Jesus, we don't have to be robots.

My favorite artist was probably Jay-Z. He's the one who inspired me to start writing music. He's a wordsmith. He's very clever. He uses a lot of similes and metaphors. He's a beast of a rapper.

I know for sure that God can do whatever He wants to do. He's called me to be faithful to do good art, to lift up Jesus and that's what I'm going to do and I'll let the Lord take care of the rest.
