With archery, if you have good gear, you can't blame being bad on anyone but yourself.

Say nothing good of yourself, you will be distrusted; say nothing bad of yourself, you will be taken at your word.

What are you going to do? Admit to yourself that the pitchers have you on the point of surrender? You can't do that. You must make yourself think that the pitchers are just as good as they always have been or just as bad.

There's such a thing as good stress and bad stress. Bad stress is when somebody else stresses you out, and good stress is when you stress yourself out over something you want to accomplish, which makes you want to perfect it.
