There is often grace in silence. But there is always power in understanding.

So many people are looking for news on the go. If you really want to understand the world, you're not going to by consuming news in the form of bite-sized haikus. I'm sorry to step up on a soapbox, but I have strong feelings about this.

Write your future in pencil…Be prepared. Plan for the future. But also be ready to pivot if a new opportunity comes your way, or if you discover something that was not part of the master plan– makes your heart sing and your mind buzz with possibilities.

World War II vets in general didn't talk about their experiences. They believed there was something better and that they were going to prove to America what they could be and show America what it could be by being the change that they wanted. Like that Ghandi phrase "be the change that you want to see" but I think that it was also just a different culture. People didn't want to complain, whereas today if you go to the Starbucks and they mess up your order you might tweet about it. You know it's a different kind of culture.
