Running a farm is about solving a problem, and that's always interesting to me. But it's a constant process.

The process of communication with the afterlife - more of an exchange than a conversation - has always fascinated me.

My father always told me I should be a writer, and I found I loved writing my autobiography; writing is such an interesting process.

For me, the audition is always the hardest part of the whole process. Once you get on set, once you're in costume, you're with the director, it's so much easier to get in the headspace.

My goal has always been to make classic records, classic albums. Sometimes the recording process and the era it was recorded in means the production leans in a particular way, but to me they are all part of the same process.

For me, the audition process always starts with a few questions: Who am I? What am I trying to get across? Why am I trying to get that across? Where am I emotionally? It's a lot to do with my foundation, and I go from there.

It's a holistic process for me during a show. I'm always focusing on the technical aspects of my voice. I try to make my voice do what I want. One big thing I do to improve on each show is to listen back to performances on CD while on tour.

'Writing' always means 'not writing' to me because I will do anything to put it off. I think this is mainly because writing anything down and then handing it over to a third party - especially in comedy - is such an exposing act that you naturally want to delay the process.

Modelling was never a career option for me; it was always a hobby. I was modelling while I was pursuing my B.Tech, so the obvious choice after finishing my studies was to do a job. But while I was modelling and doing TV commercials, I really loved being in front of the camera. I enjoyed the shooting process.
