When you're as chaotic as I am, you need a very firm structure in your life.

I am not starry. I am your everyday girl, with not so everyday aspirations in life.

I am not a 'yes' person. No matter who you are married to, you still need to lead your life.

Without fail, the first question I am asked at any author event is, 'Are your books based on your real life?'

One of the processes of your life is to constantly break down that inferiority, to constantly reaffirm that I Am Somebody.

As a Formula One driver, you dream about winning your first race all your life. I am desperate to know what it feels like.

I am a firm believer that you can make a difference in someone's life - whether they're thousands of miles away, or on your own block.

I am not this big celebrity, but it gets really crazy. You have to go through the nuts of blowing up, in a sense, and then figuring out how to live your life with that.

I will admit to being slightly embarrassed that I am getting tattoos relatively late in life. Tattoos are meant to be something you get in your 20s when you're actually worried about your appearance.

Be willing to shed parts of your previous life. For example, in our 20s, we wear a mask; we pretend we know more than we do. We must be willing, as we get older, to shed cocktail party phoniness and admit, 'I am who I am.'

I am quite fortunate, because I can still be quite incognito. If you go out looking for attention, then you'll attract it, but if you're just getting on with your life, particularly in London where everyone is engrossed in what they're doing, you can keep a measure of anonymity.
