Dealing with politicians, that's a little different. But government doesn't change until people demand it.

People can also change the timing of when they earn and receive their income in response to government policies.

People can change the volume, the location and the composition of their income, and they can do so in response to changes in government policies.

Many people leave government disillusioned about its ability to achieve change and cynical about politicians. I left with rather opposite lessons.

The White House has a choice: They can change course, or they can double down on a vision of government that the American people have roundly rejected.

As the people at the sharp end of delivering the government's commitment to tackle climate change we know attaining zero carbon status has always involved a flexible approach.

If a huge number of people call for change, the government will have to react. If you want to avoid uprisings, or demonstrations, you need to respond to the people's desperate need for change.

Some will say it isn't the government's job to manage who people meet and interact with, but there is clearly a lot it can and should do. It should offer communities much more support to manage demographic and cultural change, including investment in public services and additional housing stock in our migration hotspots.
