It brings me joy to hear that people are laughing at my scene in 'Due Date.'

Nothing gives me quite so much joy as when people tell me they've had their pets spayed or neutered.

People know my characters like Alice Morgan in 'Luther' or Alison Bailey from 'The Affair.' For me, that's a compliment, a kind of joy.

A lot of times, people make other people responsible for their joy: 'You're not making me happy, you're not doing this, you're not doing that.'

I get a special joy in knowing people feel comfortable if they see me in Wal-Mart or in a no-frills section trying to get something on a discount.

To me, the joy you're going to get in a 'Punisher' story is watching him punish incredibly wicked people. Now, if you can add to that an emotional content, wonderful.

I worked a variety of jobs in retail and at coffee shops all through high school. And, though I was surrounded by people who cared about me, part of me ached with every accomplishment, because my parents weren't there to share my joy.

I feel that it means a lot to the people of Iran that my film is represented at the Oscars, and it makes me happy to bring them that joy, that I'm representing them and that I'm able to give them that element of pleasure to be the envoy from Iran. It's a very pleasant thing.

My interest only is trying to help the lives of the people of this state, try to educate people and create jobs. It's not even for me. I've never gained anything. I don't even take a salary. I've never gained anything from being here except for the joy and the privilege of serving the people of this state.

We made our entrance into Paris. As for honors, we received all that we could possibly imagine; but they, though very well in their way, were not what touched me most. What was really affecting was the tenderness and earnestness of the poor people, who, in spite of the taxes with which they are overwhelmed, were transported with joy at seeing us.
